Academic Search Premier

By far the world’s most valuable and most numerous collection of active full text peer-reviewed journals, Academic Search Complete is expected to contain indexing for 9,000 serials, with full text for 5,500 of those titles. Updated monthly, this database is useful for a wide range of disciplines including art and architecture, humanities, science and mathematics, philosophy, politics, and religion.

Fuente Academica provides PDF full text for 260 scholarly publications covering many areas of academic study. Funk and Wagnall’s New Encyclopedia

The Funk & Wagnall’s New World Encyclopedia database indexes over 25,000 records, covering a huge array of topics. Double click on the topic for full-text display. Images are offered as well as brief biographies and a wide range of subject information. InfoTrac Custom Newspapers InfoTrac Custom Newspapers offers a collection of over 400 full-text newspapers from around the globe. Updated daily, articles are indexed and searchable by title, author, headline, date or section. Cover-to-cover coverage of USA Today, Austin-American Statesman from 1996, Washington Times from 1996, Houston Chronicle from 1996, The Financial Times from 1996, The Times (London) since 1985, and many more.

Legal Collection

Containing full text from nearly 250 of the world's most respected, scholarly law journals, the Legal Collection is an authoritative source for legal information. It covers topics such as criminal justice, international and federal law, organized crime, medical, labor & human resource law, ethics, the environment and much more. Many of the journals included are full text.

MasterFile Premier

An EBSCO product designed specifically for public libraries, MasterFile Premier is updated daily. It provides full-text for over 2,000 general reference resources starting as early as 1975. It also includes full-text biographies, book reviews, and primary source documents as well as a large image collection containing photographs, maps, and flags.

Military and Government Collection

A great resource for current news relating to all branches of the military and government, the Military and Government Collection, offers indexing and abstracts for more than 500 sources as well as full-text for almost 300 periodicals and journals. Many of the full-text titles are also in pdf format and easy to search electronically.

NetLibrary (27,000 eBooks)

More than 27,000 eBooks are available for browsing, searching, and virtual check-out through NetLibrary. TexShare's eBook collection includes titles from the world's leading business, technology, trade, reference, academic, and scholarly publishers. Search by title, author, keyword, publisher, publication date, or ISBN number. You may either view the book online or check it out electronically for a limited time.

Newspaper Source

Newspaper Source provides cover-to-cover full text for 20 large American & international newspapers, including The Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Times (London), Toronto Star. The database also contains selected full text for more than 230 regional newspapers, including The Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Detroit Free Press, The Miami Herald, Daily News (New York), and the San Jose Mercury News. In addition, full text television & radio news transcripts are provided from CBS News, FOX News, and NPR.

Religion and Philosophy Collection

The comprehensive Religion and Philosophy Collection covers world religions, major denominations, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy and the history of philosophy. The world’s largest resource of full text business publications. Business Source Complete offers full text journals in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, accounting, banking, and finance. Indexing, abstracts, and full text are available as far back as 1886. Additional full text content includes financial data, books, monographs, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, industry reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT analyses and more.

Economia y Negocios*

Economía y Negocios is the result of a collaborative effort between EBSCO Publishing and ESAN (Escuela de Administración de Negocios para Graduados). This continuously updated bibliographic database is an indispensable tool for research conducted in the areas of business and economics. It allows you to search with keywords in both Spanish and English. More than 60,000 records, dating back to the early 1980s, provide coverage for over 200 Spanish and Portuguese-language periodicals published in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, the United States and elsewhere. Active titles include Revista de la CEPAL, Revista de Administraçao, Estudios Empresariales, and Agroeconómico.

InfoTrac Custom Newspapers

A merger of both their English and American poetry collections, this ProQuest database covers the time period from 1900 to the present. It contains over 70,000 poems from 285 poets, including over forty distinguished authors from the Faber Poetry Library. It is an excellent resource for discovering the diverse and dynamic scope of modern poetry.

20th Century American Poetry

This unparalleled collection includes 52,000 poems drawn from 750 volumes by over 300 poets. The 20th Century American Poetry Collection reflects the variety and dynamism of American poetic voices in this century of change; all major movements and schools are represented. In addition, it includes many contemporary writers of the 1980s and 90s who have gained recognition through national poetry awards or publication in leading print anthologies.

Contemporary Authors

The Literature Resource Center is most comprehensive and current online database on authors and their works. It provides full-text literary criticism, biographies, bibliographies, and work overviews covering authors from every genre, time period and discipline. Combining Gale's most-used literary databases in a single online service, the Literature Resource Center covers more than 130,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers such as philosophers, filmmakers, and anthropologists.

Scribner Writers

Gain access to over 1,800 original and detailed bio-critical essays on the lives and works of important authors from around the world. Many authors in the Scribner Writers Series are seen from multiple perspectives through two, three or sometimes four essays. Students can go directly to an entry on a specific author, combine search criteria for a more complex search, or explore thematic and chronological topics to make connections among writers.

Twayne’s Authors Series

The Twayne's Authors Series of literary criticism offers in-depth introductions to the lives and works of writers, the history and influence of literary movements, and to the development of literary genres. This online series features the content of nearly 600 books that comprise three print series --United States Authors, English Authors and World Authors.

WorldCat

An online catalog of library materials from OCLC member libraries. A useful tool for finding materials in other libraries, it provides indexes of books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, newspaper, films, maps, musical scores and internet resources. It covers 1000 BC to the present and millions of bibliographic records from around the world, updated daily.

Mas Ultra: School Edition

This comprehensive database, designed specifically for high school libraries, contains full text for more than 700 popular high school magazines. All full text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). It provides more than 80,000 biographies and primary source documents. The Mas Ultra School Edition also offers pamphlets, reference books, photos, maps & flags, and articles as far back as 1975. It includes the Our States series as well, a new collection made up of 54 titles on each of the states, commonwealths and territories in the United States.

Middle Search Plus

Middle Search Plus contains full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. All full text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biographies, historical essays and student pamphlets. Local histories and primary source materials relating to towns and families in the U.S., Canada, England, and Ireland are also included. You will be able to search by family name, geographic area, title, or subject.

Texas Digital Sanborn Maps

Provides digital access to more than 660,000 large-scale maps of over 12,000 American towns and cities from 1867 to 1970. Founded in 1867 by D. A. Sanborn, the Sanborn Map Company was the primary American publisher of fire insurance maps for nearly 100 years. EBSCO Consumer Health Complete*

Consumer Health Complete is comprehensive resource for consumer-oriented health issues. It is designed to help patients understand health care topics. It covers all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated medicine. This full text database covers topics such as aging, cancer, diabetes, drugs & alcohol, fitness, nutrition & dietetics, and the health of men, women, and children. There are more than 4,100 reports based on medical evidence, nearly 5,500 reports from Clinical Pharmacology and more than 1,200 videos made by doctors. In addition to hundreds of pictures and diagrams, CHC offers the full-text of 176 health reference books and encyclopedias.

EBSCO Natural and Alternative Treatments

Natural and Alternative Treatments is a complementary and alternative medicine database designed specifically for the consumer-health researcher. The database contains almost 200 articles on medical conditions. It presents alternative medicine therapies based on medical evidence as well as information on herbs and supplements, functional foods, and therapies such as acupuncture and homeopathy. An additional section, linked to the others, provides comprehensive information on drug/herb/supplement interactions. The articles contained in the database are entirely based on double-blind, placebo-controlled studies and other forms of meaningful scientific evidence. More than 12,000 such studies are cited and new studies are added regularly. The content has been developed and reviewed by a team of physicians and pharmacologists with the goal of providing consumers with reliable information.

Health and Wellness Resource Center

The Health and Wellness Resource Center is an in-depth, user-friendly resource designed to be a one-stop place for health research on topics such as pregnancy, nutrition, diseases, drug abuse, prescription drugs, and more. It includes information from journals, magazines, pamphlets, and websites. There are 879 indexed sources, of which 662 are full text. It offers additional information on alternative topics such as herbal remedies, yoga, homeopathy, midwifery, and chiropractic.

Health Reference Center Academic

Health Reference Center Academic provides access to the full text of nursing and allied health journals, plus a wide variety of personal health information sources. It integrates the full text and images of respected nursing, allied health and medical journals; consumer health magazines; newsletters; pamphlets; newspaper articles; topical interviews; and key reference books.

Health Source: Consumer Edition*

This is the richest collection of consumer health information available to libraries worldwide. Health Source: Consumer Edition provides access to nearly 300 full text, consumer health periodicals. This database also includes searchable full text for more than 1,000 health-related pamphlets and 129 health reference books, including books published by the People's Medical Society. This database also contains more than 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports (in English and Spanish), Clinical Pharmacology, which provides access to 1,100 drug monograph entries and 2,700 patient education fact sheets, and Merriam-Webster's Medical Desk Dictionary. Health Source: Nursing Academic Edition provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDline uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities to search citations from over 4,800 current biomedical journals. Included are citations from Index Medicus, International Nursing Index, Index to Dental Literature, HISTLINE, SPACELINE, PREMEDLINE®, AIDSLINE®, BIOETHICSLINE®, and HealthSTAR®. This is a useful tool well suited to medical students and other health professionals.

Computer Source

Featuring more than 300 full text periodicals covering topics such as computers, telecommunications, electronics and the Internet. Computer Source™ offers a good, full-text selection of technical journals and consumer computer resources.

The Directory of Open Access Journals provides both constant updates and free access to a compendium of international scholarly journals on a wide range of topics. Many are full-text, others provide indexing and abstracts. Topics include agriculture and food science, biology, chemistry, health science, languages and literature, mathematics, physics, engineering, the arts, business, environmental science, history, law, political science, philosophy, religion, and social science.

Information Science & Technology Abstracts

With coverage dating as far back as the mid 1960s, Information Science & Technology Abstracts™ is the oldest continuously produced database covering the field of information science. Subject coverage includes classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management, search engines, printed and electronic information sources, the information industry, scholarly communication, electronic publishing, and more. It provides indexing for more than 450 journals as well as conferences, research reports and 80 core information science and technology titles.

Serials Directory

The Serials Directory provides up-to-date and accurate bibliographic information as well as current pricing structures for popular serials. It contains nearly 212,000 U.S. and international titles, including newspapers; data from nearly 108,235 publishers worldwide, including e-mail and Internet addresses; and Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal Classifications for every entry.

TDNet Journal Locator

The TDNet Journal Locator offers a searchable list of ALL the journal titles available to TexShare users from all of the different database providers. This list includes available holdings as well as an indication of the availability of full-text. Users with an "authenticated IP-address" can take advantage of direct hotlinks from the search results page. Others can simply return to their main TexShare menu page and click on the specific database that contains their selected journal.

WorldCat

An online catalog of the 58 million bibliographic records from OCLC member libraries. A useful tool for finding materials in other libraries, it offers indexes of books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, newspaper, films, maps, musical scores and internet resources. Search by Library of Congress or Dewey Decimal classifications and limit searches by material types, material formats, and audiences. WorldCat covers 1000 BC to the present and millions of bibliographic records from around the world, updated daily.
