Finding Digital Art Resources
Digital art is rapidly growing in popularity and exposure. It s a relatively new, still-uncharted form of artistic expression. This pathfinder attempts to answer digital art-related questions that TexShare users may have.
I am new to digital art. Where should I start to look?
Student Resource Center Gold is an excellent resource for exploring the world of digital art. It has access to essays, critical analyses, and many articles from magazines, newspapers and journals. By performing a keyword search on digital art, you can find information about what is happening in the digital art world, the creative tools employed, and the artists themselves.
Is there a database that can provide newspaper articles about digital art exhibits?
Besides Student Resource Center Gold, another database that provides full-text articles is Infotrac Custom Newspapers. Enter digital art and select it so that your search includes words in entire content. Limiting the search by date and subject section is also possible. Look under Arts and Entertainment for most articles pertaining to gallery and museum exhibits.
Where would I find books that explain how to use Adobe Photoshop?
The NetLibrary eContent Collection has a number of electronic books on many topics, including how-to guides on software and digital art tools. Do a Keyword search for photoshop to produce a list of available e-book titles on Adobe Photoshop.
