EXAMPLES
Where can I find scholarly articles from the education field?
Academic Search Premier is your one-stop shop for articles from a variety of fields of study. For research in education, this database provides access to related publications such as Teaching PreK-8, Teaching and Teacher Education, Education Digest, Education Week, Educational Leadership, and many more. A basic search for the term "curriculum" in the default fields of the database results in hundreds of hits. Searches within Academic Search Premier can be narrowed by academic journals, magazines, newspapers, and books. You can also refine your search by using the subject terms and author-supplied keywords.
My library doesn't own a particular book about education/teaching. Where can I find it?
You can gain access to thousands of ebooks through NetLibrary, a digital library containing the full text of books from major publishers. You can search by author, title, keyword, or full text to find books that fit your needs. Here are a few examples of ebooks available through NetLibrary that deal with education:
- Language, Culture, and Teaching by Sonia Nieto, 2002
- Classroom Instruction That Works: Research-based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement by Rober J. Marzano, Debra Pickering, and Jane E. Pollock, 2001
- Teachers and Schooling Making a Difference: Productive Pedagogies, Assessment and Performance by Debra Hayes, 2006
