Painting is perhaps the most dominant medium in the art world and a form of communication. From basement hobbyists to famous, museum-exhibited artists, painting is a passion for people throughout the world. This pathfinder attempts to answer painting related questions that TexShare users may have.

Where can I find articles about contemporary painting?

Academic Search Premier provides access to over 100 art and painting journals, including the leading-edge titles, such as ArtForum, Art in America, and ARTnews. When you conduct a keyword search specifying your term as a SU ׃Subject Term’ in the drop down menu, Academic Search Premier will include these art journals in its search.

Where can I get a book about mural painting?

The NetLibrary eContent Collection has many books on painting movements and styles. With a Keyword search for ‘murals’, a number of results can be found.

Where can I find information about the business side of painting — how to sell my work, who is buying it, etc.?

Business Source Premier is a good source for locating articles that discuss the business side of the art world, including marketing. To begin your search, input ‘art’ as a keyword search. Like Academic Search Premier, specify it as a ‘SU Subject Term’.
