Medline with MeSH
Overview:
Medline is an online database of citations to articles from scholarly journals in almost every branch of the health sciences, including veterinary medicine. This database indexes more than 4,800 journals. Database coverage begins in 1966, but the dates of coverage actually vary for the various journals. Medline can be searched using keywords or MeSH (Medical Subject Headings).

How Can I Find Information using Medline?
There are four ways to search through Medline. By keyword, publication, MeSH terms, and indexes. The keyword search looks for your search term in the search fields you choose.
Step 1 : Type your search terms in the Find box.
Step 2 : Select the fields you wish to search from the drop down menu(s).
Note: Default fields include title, abstract, author, and MeSH terms.
Step 3 : Search!
How Can I Obtain Help Searching Medline?
- Help – Clicking the Help link in the top right corner of the search screen will take you to general information for all EBSCOhost databases
- EBSCO Support Site – Clicking the link for EBSCO Support Site will allow you to get information specific to this database by typing “Medline” in the ‘Knowledge Base’ search box.
- MeSH - Learn about MeSH at the National Library of Medicine's Web site, http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/meshhome.html.
