Interlibrary Loan and Courier Working Groups Are Combined

The TexShare Advisory Board approved the consolidation of the Interlibrary Loan and Courier Working Groups at the January 27th, 2006 Board meeting. The approval was based on feedback received from members of both working groups. The Board also approved a charge for the new group, which is as follows:

• Develops plans for optimizing interlibrary loan service among TexShare libraries, as reflected in the TexShare ILL Protocol.
• Reviews and recommends policies and procedures for the TExpress courier program, including TExpress Shipping Guidelines.
• Solicits input from and facilitates communication among member libraries concerning ILL services and the TExpress Courier Service.
• Sponsors the ILL Workshop every 18 months.

Annual Rate for TExpress courier service for Fiscal Year 08

To all TExpress participants (courier participants within the state of Texas ONLY):

The annual full rate for TExpress courier service for FY08
(September, 2007 - August, 2008) will be $3,600.
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission subsidy is $900 annually; thus the billable amount to subsidized libraries will be $2,700.

8th Interlibrary Loan Workshop

Stay tuned to this site for information on the 8th Interlibrary Loan Workshop. We are hoping to have the next Interlibrary Loan Workshop in February. The location for the workshop has not determined as of yet but per your requests on the evaluation, we are looking at Austin or San Antonio.
