Medline Annual Reload
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) is
working on its annual global data reload, which allows
them to update the MeSH Thesaurus and apply any terminology
respectively, as necessary. While this is taking place,
the NLM will not be adding any newly indexed records
to MEDLINE. This process is expected to be completed
by mid-December, at which point daily updates of indexed
records will resume. In the meantime, the NLM will
continue to provide both In Process and other non-indexed
citations on a daily basis, and EBSCO will continue
to update MEDLINE daily with this information.
As In Process records are a subset of EBSCO's MEDLINE
database, they are easily searchable. And while searching
by subject headings will not return the most current
records during this interim period, the inclusion
of In Process and other non-indexed citations in EBSCO's
MEDLINE means that subscribers will continue to receive
current results through keyword searching.
Please visit EBSCO's Customer Support Site at http://support.epnet.com,
where a top story will be posted after the reload
process has been completed. For other helpful subscriber
information, please see our tutorials and support
materials, along with our searchable Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQs) Knowledge Base.
