LIMITATIONS:: For library cards issued to TexShare holders
from other libraries, the total number of items that can be
checked out on one TexShare card is 10, with limits by type
of material.
You must be a Arlington Public Library registered borrower
in good standing for a minimum of 3 months before a TexShare
card will be issued for your use at other TexShare libraries.
Borrowing privileges will be blocked on any account with
fines totaling $10 or more and/or materials overdue for more
than 28 days.

ELIGIBILITY: TexShare card holders may apply
for an Arlington Public Library card at any location.
When applying for a card, please present your TexShare
Card, a photo ID, and a form of identification that
shows your correct home address.
Only one APL card will be issued for each TexShare card presented.
CARD AVAILABILITY: Library cards are issued at the Circulation
Desk in each Library location until 15 minutes before closing.
The expiration date on the library card will be the same as
the expiration date on the patron 's TexShare card.
HOURS:
The George W. Hawkes Central Library is open Monday
– Thursday - 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday & Saturday - 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday - (September to May) - 2 - 6 p.m.

RENEWAL OF MATERIALS:Items may be renewed one time when there
is no other patron on a waiting list for that title. Renewals
can be made either in person at any of the Arlington Public
Libraries, by renewing on the Library\'s website, or by calling
817-459-6906 while the Library is open.
RETURNS: Materials can be returned to any Arlington Public
Library location. Inside bookdrops are located near the Circulation
Desk at each building. There are also outside bookdrops at
each location that are open 24 hours per day.
MAIL RETURN:
Materials can also be returned by insured mail.
Please pack the materials in appropriate boxes or padded mailing
envelopes and insure the contents for the total replacement
cost of the materials enclosed. Packages should be mailed

EXPRESS MAIL: Materials can also be returned by UPS or Express
Mail. Please pack the materials in appropriate boxes or padded
mailing envelopes and insure the contents for the total replacement
cost of the materials enclosed. Packages should be sent to:

OVERDUES: As a courtesy,
when items checked out to a borrower become seven or
more days overdue the Library will attempt to notify
them by phone. Borrowers within our local calling area
receive three phone notices from an automated calling
system. All borrower privileges are suspended when materials
are overdue more than 28 days. The patron's home library
will be notified of all materials overdue longer than
28 days. Materials overdue after 45 days will be referred
to the home library for collection.
RECALLS: We do not recall items.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: The following types of items are not
available for checkout: All Reference materials (print and
non-print), Genealogy Reference materials, Government Documents,
all magazines and newspapers at the Central Library, and current
issues of magazines and newspapers at Branch Libraries. E-books
are not available to TexShare patrons.
LOAN POLICIES: Videos, DVDs, and CD-ROMs checkout for 7 days.
Read It Again Kits checkout for 2 weeks. All other items checkout
for 3 weeks.
FINES: Books, magazines, mini Read It Again!
kits, and sound recordings have a daily overdue charge
per item of $0.25. CD-ROMs, DVDs, E-Book readers, regular
Read It Again! kits, and videocassettes have a daily
overdue charge per item of $3.00.
LOST ITEMS:
The charge for lost or damaged materials is the
actual price paid by the Library for the particular item plus
a processing fee. Lost or damaged items remain the property
of the Library.
BILLING: Payments may be made at the Circulation Desk at
any Arlington Public Library or by mail. Please include the
Arlington Public Library card number, the TexShare card number,
and the title of item if paying by mail. The TexShare cardholder
agrees to pay any charges incurred as a result of a late return,
damage, or loss of materials. Failure to comply will result
in the loss of TexShare privileges. Notification will be sent
to the home library.
