LIMITATIONS:
TexShare card holders are given general circulation privileges
in the Blinn College Libraries at the Brenham, Bryan, and
Schulenburg campuses with the following additions and exceptions:1)
TexShare borrowers are limited to two items in circulation
at one time. 2) Items may be recalled after one week if requested
by Blinn students or faculty. 3) Borrowing privileges are
suspended if fines are owed or items are overdue. 4) Interlibrary
loan service is not provided for TexShare borrowers. 5) Public
library borrowers must be at least 18 years of age. 6) Subject
areas and specific items in high demand by Blinn students
may not circulate to TexShare borrowers.
ELIGIBILITY:
Bring TexShare library card and a valid photo I.D. to the
Circulation Desk at any Blinn Library to register for borrower
privileges. Registrations are not accepted by mail or phone.
Once a TexShare Card holder is registered for borrower privileges,
the TexShare Library Card, as well as another picture I.D.
such as a driver's license or student I.D. must be presented
to check out material; the TexShare Library Card cannot be
used by itself to check out items. Public library borrowers
must be at least 18 years of age.
CARD AVAILABILITY:
Applications for borrower privileges are accepted during
normal library hours which are posted on the Blinn Library
website.
Borrower privileges are extended only for the current
semester and must be updated for each semester.
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS:
Items may be renewed once in person or by phone unless a request
has been placed on the item by another patron. Patron must
have item(s) to be renewed in hand before calling.
RETURNS:
TexShare borrowers are responsible for returning items to
the library by the due date. Items may be returned to the
service desk or after hours books drop at any Blinn Library
or by first-class, insured mail to the address listed below.
Items must be packaged so they cannot be damaged during mailing.
The borrower is responsible for the materials until they are
checked in at the circulation desk. Late fees will be assessed
for material received after the due date, regardless of postmark.

OVERDUES:
The library is not responsible for notifying borrowers
that materials are overdue. However, as a courtesy,
notices are usually sent for overdue items.
RECALLS:
Fines for recalled items increase to $1 per day after
original due date is reached.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS:
Reference books, closed-shelf materials, periodicals, special
collections, slides and photographs, microforms, reserve items,
rare items, computer software, and all types of equipment.
Some subject areas may be restricted to Blinn students due
to assignments or high demand.
LOANS:
The checkout period is 14 days for most books, 7 days
for most videos. TexShare borrowers are entitled to
two items in circulation at any one time. Some items
circulate for shorter periods due to high demand.
FINES:
Fine rate is $.25 per item, per day. Damaged items are
assessed per condition of the item. Damage fees may
range from a minimum $5.00 repair charge to full replacement
cost of the item plus accumulated fines, a $10.00 processing
fee and any applicable binding fee. Any fines or fees
not paid in full by the end of the semester in which
the charges occurred will be reported to the TexShare
borrower's home library.
LOST ITEMS:
Lost items are assessed the replacement cost
of the item, any accumulated overdue fine, a $10.00
processing fee and any applicable binding fee.
BILLING:
Payment may be made at any Blinn Library circulation
desk.
