LIMITATIONS: If it is the person's
first time we limit the items checked out to two per
person. This goes for the TexShare borrowers as well
as the our patrons. If there is a fine due, or an item
has not been returned this person can not check out
any more material until he/she is clear.
ELIGIBILITY: A TexShare person has
borrowing privileges at our library as long as they
have a TexShare card that was issued by their city/town's
library. Identification required to check out books
from the Dilley Public Library is ID verification or
Lic. #.
CARD AVAILABILITY: TexShare individuals
have the same privileges that our patrons have. Same
hours and same lending periods.
HOURS: The Library is open 8-5 Mon.-Fri.
We are closed on all of the regular holidays of the
year Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Renewal is done
in person due to the fact that we can not renew a card
by e-mail, phone,etc, due to the fact that the person
calling may not be the person they say they are.
RETURNS: All items must be returned
to the same desk as checked out. We have at time mentioned
to patrons that they can return items to the Dilley
City Office, since we are under them, the Dilley Public
Library has a box there at their office and patrons
pay their bills there too.

OVERDUES: Overdue slips are sent out
by mail for items not returned over a month or so. The
reminder is printed out of the Athena software program/cataloging
system used at the library.
RECALLS: If an item is checked out
that is needed by another patron, we just call them
and ask them to please return the item when their check
time if due.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Some of our
reference section is not to circulate, it is just for
in-house use.
LOAN POLICIES: Loan policies for a
TexShare borrower are the same as for the library's
patrons. If more time is needed a TexShare individual
as well as our patrons can ask for more time.
FINES: Fines and Fees charged to a
TexShare borrower would be the same as our charges for
any patron that uses the library. That goes for damaged
materials also.
LOST ITEMS: If an item is lost a
patron will come and inform us about the lost material.
It will be classified as lost and the patron will be
given some time to look for the item. If after a period
of a month or longer the item is considered lost, we
work with the person to take care of the cost.
BILLING: If a patron does not have
money to pay a fine or for lost or damaged material
we work with them and allow them to try and come up
with cost or some of it. If the patron does not even
try to work with us there are not consequences unless
it happens two times for one reason or the other (due
to staff not knowing the person owes etc.) This individual
will not be allowed to check out items from the library.
He/she can read, research, study, etc. all they want,
but not check due to lost, damaged, fines owed etc.
ADDITIONAL: All the rules that our
patrons use will be used for TexShare individuals also
and if overdues, fines, lost, damaged etc. materials
are not taken care of this person is not allowed to
check any material from the library. In-house use is
permitted.
