LIMITATIONS: 10 items may be checked
out at one time. You may renew an item two times as
long as that item is not a waiting list for another
user. No Reference or Genealogy materials may leave
the building. You may send a request in writing to the
library (mail or email) and volunteers for the library
will send you photocopies of the requested material.
(These are volunteers so please limit the requests to
minimal research and photocopying).
Items will not be circulated to anyone having overdue
items.
ELIGIBILITY: Hillsboro City Library
allows everyone to use the library. To receive a card
to check out materials a staff member must see something
with your current address and a picture id. (This can
include: Drivers License and a Checkbook, Utility Bill,
Mail received at current address, etc.)
To use the Internet computers you must provide your
name and date of birth.
CARD AVAILABILITY: All patron information
must be updated annually.
HOURS:
Monday and Thursday 9:00AM to 7:00PM
Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday 9:00AM to 5:00PM
Saturday 9:00AM to Noon
Please call 254-582-7385 for altered hours due to national
holidays.
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Materials may
be renewed in person, by phone or email to hillsborolibrary@hillsborotx.org
RETURNS: All materials may be returned
to the library during regular operating hours. Books
may be returned in the drop box located on the front
porch of the building during hours when the library
is closed. Items may be returned via mail service

OVERDUES: Overdue notices are sent
by mail once a month.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Reference and
Genealogy Materials.
LOAN POLICIES: Items may be checked
out for a two week period.
FINES AND FEES: Fines are .10 cents
a day up to $5.00 for late books; Videos are $1.00 a
day up to $5.00. Damaged items will be assessed by the
staff. Depending upon extent of damage, the item may
require replacement and patron would be responsible
for the replacement cost plus a processing fee.
LOST ITEMS: The patron is responsible
for the cost of the item and a $3.00 processing fee
for a lost item.
BILLING: It is a misdemeanor for
any person to not return library materials. After several
attempts at notifying the patron, the complaint will
be turned over to the Police Department and handled
through the Court system.
