LIMITATIONS: TexShare cardholders may borrow up to 3 items
from the circulating collection. Materials check out for three
weeks and may not be renewed. Reserve items, audiovisuals,
multimedia and items currently on reserve are not eligible
for checkout by TexShare cardholders. TexShare members may
use any in-house library resources according to standard library
regulations, but not remote access resources, including on-line
databases. No Reference materials circulate. If a cardholder's
fine reaches $5.00, borrowing privileges are suspended until
the fine is paid.
ELIGIBILITY: TexShare cards are issued through the circulation
department on a case-by-case basis. The card expires three
months from date of issue. After that period, the patron must
obtain a new TexShare card. To qualify for a TexShare card,
a patron must meet the following criteria: Patron must be
at least 12 years old. Patron must have a good borrowing history
with the library (no excessive fines, no lost items), for
at least one year. Patron must have no outstanding fines,
fees or overdue materials at the time the card is issued.
Cardholder must present, at time of checkout, both a TexShare
card and a current form of photo ID (driver's license, school
ID, etc.). Children under sixteen must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian adult whose photo ID will be used if the
child does not have one.
CARD AVAILABILITY: TexShare borrowing privileges are granted
and cards are issued at any time during regular business hours.

RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: TexShare cardholders may borrow up
to 3 items, non-renewable, for up to three weeks. Returns:

by mail or using a delivery service, but the cardholder assumes
all expenses involved in returning the items.

OVERDUES: Fines accumulate at the rate of 10 cents/day per
item. Maximum fine per item is $5.00. Three overdue notices
will be sent after which the cardholder will be charged the
price of the item and a $5.00 processing fee. These charges
will be reported to the library that issued the card, but
all fines and fees must be paid to the lending library. Cardholders
who fail to pay fines and fees will not be allowed checkout
privileges at any TexShare member library.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Items currently on reserve, audiovisuals,
multimedia and Reference items are not eligible for checkout
by TexShare cardholders.
LOAN POLICIES: Checkout periods vary according to the type
of materials borrowed, but are the same for residents and
TexShare cardholders. TexShare cardholders may borrow no more
than three items, not renewable, from the circulating collection.
Most items check out for three weeks; Best Sellers, for two
weeks. A borrower may not check out any additional items if
there are overdues or if accrued fines/fees exceed $5.00.
FINES: Fines accumulate at the rate of 10 cents/day, per
item. Maximum fine is $5.00 per item. Cardholder is responsible
for returning items to the lending library and any expense
involved in returning the items. La Marque Public Library
will return materials to the lending library for patrons for
free, but will not guarantee the items will be received by
the lending library before becoming overdue. The cardholder
is solely responsible for all fines and fees accrued at other
libraries and may have borrowing privileges suspended for
outstanding charges with any TexShare library. The La Marque
Public Library may at any time revoke a patron's TexShare
card if that person has outstanding fees or fines with any
TexShare library. Failure to return materials or to pay outstanding
charges in a timely manner may result not only in the cancellation
of TexShare privileges, but also in the suspension of borrowing
privileges with the La Marque Public Library.
LOST ITEMS:
Items are considered lost if more than 3 months
overdue. Three overdue notices will be sent after which the
cardholder will be charged the price of the item plus a $5.00
processing fee. These charges will be reported to the library
that issued the card, but all fines and fees must be paid
to the lending library. Cardholders who fail to pay fines
or fees will not be allowed checkout privileges at any other
TexShare library until the items in question are returned
and/or paid for. If a lost item is recovered within one year
and presented to the La Marque Public Library in reasonably
usable condition, accompanied by the receipt for payment,
the cardholder is given a refund less the processing fee and
any fines due at the time the item is returned.
