RESTRICTIONS/LIMITATIONS: TexShare
borrowers must show a current TexShare card and state
of Texas issued photo ID. Borrowers are limited to two
(2) books at one time. Check-out period is two weeks
(14 days). Renewals are limited to one (1) additional
check-out period. Excluded collections for check-out
are New Books, Bestsellers, Texana, Western, von Donop,
Memorial, Audio, Video, and Periodicals. Borrowing privileges
may be suspended if materials are late, damaged, or
lost.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be at
least 18 years-of-age and show their current State of
Texas issued photo ID and Mason County Library card.
Applicants must have had an active Mason County Library
card for at least one (1) year and be in good standing
without lost or damaged items and without outstanding
overdue items, fines, or fees.
CHECK-OUT CARD AVAILABILITY: TexShare
card applications will be taken during normal weekday
hours of operation at the Mason County Library circulation
desk. If approved, the TexShare card will be mailed
to the applicant. TexShare cards issued by the Mason
County Library will expire six (6) months from the date
issued. The TexShare cardholder must notify the Mason
County Library of phone, mailing, or e-mail address
change.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday-Friday
10:00-6:00. Closed for holidays. Call ahead for library
closures.
RENEWALS: Materials may be renewed
one (1) time in person, by phone, or e-mail. Renewal
requests must be made before the material is due. Overdue
items will not be renewed.
RETURNS: Materials may be returned
to the Mason County Library circulation desk, in the
overnight drop box, or by insured mail/UPS. The drop
box is checked Monday-Friday at 10:00 A.M. only. Materials
must reach the library by the due date to avoid fines
and/or fees.

OVERDUE REMINDERS: An overdue notice
is sent, by mail or e-mail, when the material is one
week overdue.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Reference,
genealogy, and archive materials; newspapers.
LOAN POLICIES: Length of loan period
is 2 weeks (14 days) with one (1) renewal.
FINES AND FEES: Overdue materials
- 25 cents per day. The charge for a damaged book is
the book replacement cost and a $10.00 processing fee.
LOST ITEMS: An item is considered
lost when it is three (3) weeks overdue. At three weeks
overdue a billing notice is sent. The charge for a lost
book is the applicable overdue fines, the book replacement
cost, and a $10.00 processing fee.
BILLING INFORMATION: Payments should
be made in person at the Mason County Library circulations
desk, 410 Post Hill, Mason, TX or by mail to Mason County
Library, P.O. Box 1785, Mason, TX 76856. Checks should
be made out to Mason County Library. Failure to pay
may result in loss of all Mason County Library privileges.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Mason County
Library privileges may be revoked for a Mason County
TexShare cardholder who incurs unpaid fines and fees
to another TexShare participating library.
