LIMITATIONS: Borrowing limit: 2-10
items, depending on the college. Not available for borrowing:
Reference, Reserve, Periodicals/Serials, and Special
Collections. Borrowing privileges will be blocked if
an eligible borrower has overdue items, unpaid fines/bills,
or has returned damaged items.
ELIGIBILITY: Apply in person.
Undergraduate/graduate students; college/university
faculty staff: Present a current TexShare Card, current
student/faculty/staff identification card, current driver's
license or state photograph identification card, and
a Social Security Number. Public: Public users must
be 18 years old or older. Present a current TexShare
Card, current public library card, current picture identification
card, such as a current driver's license, state photograph
identification card, or student identification card,
and a Social Security Number. Library may require borrower
to complete and sign a borrowing agreement.
CARD AVAILABILITY: Length of
borrowing privileges: Undergraduate/graduate students
and public - TexShare Card will expire at the end of
the semester of its issuance. College/university faculty/staff
- TexShare Card will expire no later than August 31
of the academic year of its issuance.
HOURS:
Hours vary for each library. These are the
common hours for all five libraries.
Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 9:00pm
Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 1:00pm
Some are open earlier, later, and on Sunday. See the
exact hours here.
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Items may be renewed one
time. Renew items in person or through the Libraries
of the Alamo Community Colleges catalog. If renewing
through the Libraries of the Alamo Community Colleges
catalog click on My Record and follow the instructions.
Renewing through the catalog must be initiated before
the items are overdue.
RETURNS: Return items to the
library where they were borrowed.
RETURNS BY U.S. MAIL: Items may be
returned by mail to the library where they were borrowed.
Fines will be charged to TexShare borrowers whose items
are received via mail after the due date. Items lost
in the mail will be the responsibility of the borrower.

OVERDUES: E-mail, mail, and/or
telephone will be used to notify borrowers that items
are overdue. Failure to receive a notification does
not absolve overdue fines. Borrowers must maintain current
e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers
with the appropriate borrowing libraries.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Reference,
Reserve, Periodicals/Serials, and Special Collections
RECALLS: Only overdue items are recalled.
LOANS: Borrowing limit/time: 2 -
10 items may be checked out for 1 - 2 weeks, depending
on the library. Items may be renewed one time.
FINES: Overdue item: $.10 per day
per book. Damaged/lost book: Cost of book plus $10.00
processing fee.
LOST ITEMS: An item is considered
lost when there is no response to overdue reminders.
The charge for a lost item is the cost of the item,
a $10.00 processing fee, and accrued overdue fines.
BILLING: Fines/bills are due upon
receipt. Contact the appropriate library to determine
the procedures for paying fines/bills. |
