LIMITATIONS: TexShare card holders
would be limited to 5 items on their account. Renewal
limitations would be one renewal for DVDs, music CDs,
& VHS items. Renewal limitations would be two renewals
for books and Audio books. Privileges do not include
remote access to electronic databases. Non-circulating
items and special collections may not be borrowed. Borrowing
privileges will be denied if customers have accrued
fees that exceed 10.00. Borrowers are required to renew
their cards on an annual basis.
ELIGIBILITY: Borrowers may apply
at any one of the San Antonio Public Libraries. Completed
applications for both TexShare and SAPL cards must be
filled out. Borrowers will need to show a photo ID and
proof of current address such as a driver's license.
If photo ID does not include current address, they may
use postmarked mail if it includes a current address.
Minors 17 and under unable to provide photo ID will
be required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian to
provide verification.
CHECK-OUT CARD AVAILABILITY: Cards
will be issued during normal business hours established
by the City of San Antonio and SAPL. Hours are currently
available at mysapl.org. SAPL expiration dates will
coincide with TexShare expiration dates and will not
exceed one year from the date it is issued. Only accounts
in good standing will be renewed. The same registration
process is followed for renewing an expired card or
replacing a card.

RENEWAL OF MATERIALS:
Materials may be renewed:
-in person
-by telephone at 210-207-6121 or 866-432-8950
-online
RETURNS:
Materials can be returned to any San Antonio Public
Library location. All locations have an outside book
drop available for after hours returns. Materials may
also be mailed to SAPL Central Library.

OVERDUES: Reminders are sent by email,
telephone, or by mail. Courtesy reminders are sent by
email prior to the due date. Overdue notices are sent
7 days after the due date and bill notices are sent
after an item is 21 days overdue.
RECALLS: The San Antonio Public library
does not recall items. Items that have been placed on
hold by other patrons can not be renewed.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Reference
materials, some periodicals, and special collections
such as our Latino collection does not circulate.
LOAN POLICIES: -Books and audiobooks
can be checked out for 3 weeks (21 days)
-DVD,VHS,music CD's can be checked out for 1 week (7
days)
FINES: Fees are charged for overdue,
lost, or damaged materials
-juvenile and young adult books, music CD's and audiobooks:$0.15
per day
-juvenile and young adult DVD's or VHS:$2.00 per day
-adult books, music CD's and audiobooks:$0.35 per day
-adult DVD's or VHS:$2.00 per day
LOST ITEMS: Items are considered
lost in the system after being 21 days overdue. Borrowers
are then charged the replacement cost of the item and
an additional $5.00 processing fee.
BILLING: Bills are due upon receipt
by the borrower. Payments may be made at any SAPL lcoation.
Consequences will range from privileges being revoked
to possible collection agency referral. Borrowing privileges
resume when overdue fees are under $10.00 or lost items
are paid in full.
