RESTRICTIONS/LIMITATIONS: TexShare
borrowers are limited to checking out a total of 3 items
at any one time. Limits on types of material are as
follows 3 books, 2 audiobooks, 2 CDs, and 2 videos or
DVDs at a time. Items may be renewed only once, if the
item is not otherwise needed. The following non-circulating
collections are for use within the library only: Genealogy,
Texas, and Reference. TexShare cardholders are not eligible
to participate in the ILL program. Borrowing privileges
will be suspended for those having significant unpaid
fines and long overdue materials until the matter is
resolved.
ELIGIBILITY: Upon presentation of
a TexShare card along with a Texas driver’s license,
Texas ID card, or military ID, and proof of address
(must be same as on ID), TexShare cardholders will be
issued a San Augustine Public Library card granting
borrowing privileges for one year. Both cards and one
of the forms of ID mentioned must be presented in order
to check out materials. An e-mail address is also required.
CHECK-OUT CARD AVAILABILITY: TexShare
borrowers may use their cards during regular operating
hours. Cards may be renewed one year from the date of
issue if the borrower’s record is in good standing.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
Saturday 9:00am to 2:00pm
RENEWALS: Materials may be renewed
in person or by phone.
RETURNS: All items should be returned
at the front desk, by mail, or in the book drop outside.

OVERDUE REMINDERS: Borrowers will
receive overdue notices by mail. Each will be followed
by an e-mail notification. Fines will not be charged
for items returned by mail if postmarked at least three
days before due date.
RECALLS: TexShare cardholders will
be contacted by phone and mail regarding recalled materials
Items must be returned (or postmarked, if by mail) within
three days of the patron being notified, after which
a fine of 50¢ per day will be assessed.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Non-circulating
materials include: all genealogy material, all items
in the Texas and Reference Collections, microfilm, phone
books, and other reference materials.
LOAN POLICIES: Books, audiobooks,
and magazines are checked-out for two week periods;
videos, CDs, and DVDs for one week.
FINES AND FEES: Overdue books, audiobooks,
and magazines – 10¢ per day
Overdue videos, CDs, and DVDs – $1.00 per day
Recalled material – 50¢ per day
Items returned by mail will not incur a fine if postmarked
at least three days by the due date.
Damaged items – Cardholders will be charged the
cost of each item and an additional non-refundable $3.00
processing fee per item.
LOST ITEMS: Unreturned items will
be considered lost after 3 months. In the event of lost
or damaged materials, the borrower will be billed for
the cost of each item and an additional non-refundable
$3.00 processing fee per item.
BILLING INFORMATION: Payment, cash
or check, for fines, fees, and lost or damaged materials
should be made to the San Augustine Public Library in
person or by mail (check only) as soon as notification
is received.
