LIMITATIONS: A maximum
of 3 circulating items may be checked out at a time. Interlibrary
loan is not offered to TexShare card holders. Borrowing privileges
will be suspended for TexShare members with overdue books
or fines exceeding $1.00 until the matter is resolved.
ELIGIBILITY: Borrowers
must have a valid TexShare card and photo ID (issued by a
Federal or State agency OR by a college or university) showing
address. The circulation desk will have a form the patron
must complete before check out. SPL patrons applying for
the TexShare card must have a check out history of at least
six months, without an extensive history of overdues, fines,
or damages. TexShare cards will be issued with the discretion
of the Director.
CARD AVAILABILITY: Borrowing privileges and card applications are available
during regular hours of operation. Borrowing privileges remain
in effect until the expiration date of the TexShare card.
Cards issued to local patrons will expire in one year.

Monday - Friday 10:00 to 5:00
1st and 3rd Saturdays 10:00 to Noon
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Items
may be renewed one time in person, or by phone, fax or e-mail.
An item will not be renewed if a request has been
placed on that item.
RETURNS: Only materials
belonging to the Shepherd Public Library may be returned
to our location. An after hours book drop is available. Borrower
may return items by mail or UPS, but must insure item, and
will be responsible for any loss.

EXPRESS MAIL: Same as above.
OVERDUES: Overdue reminders
are mailed as a courtesy, fourteen days after the due date.
Not receiving a notice does not excuse borrower. Notice will
be sent to the patron, and to the patron's issuing library.
RECALLS: No recalls.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Non-circulating
items are reference items only and may not be checked out.
LOAN POLICIES: Loan
period is two weeks, with one renewal allowed if no hold
is on the item.
FINES: : Fines are .10 a day
for books and audio books and $1.00 a day for videos. Fees
for damaged materials will be the cost of the item plus a
$3.50 processing fee.
LOST ITEMS: The fees
for lost items will be replacement cost plus a $3.50 processing
fee.
BILLING: Payments of fines
and fees may be made at the circulation desk or by mail.
Please include name, address, card number. Payment by cash
or money order only. Unpaid fines and fees are turned over
to Municipal Court.
