ELIGIBILITY:  Texas A&M honors valid TexShare Library Cards issued by participating libraries. Initial application for library privileges and renewal of library privileges previously granted under TexShare or other lending agreements must be made in person. Applications and renewal requests are not accepted by mail or phone. Faculty, staff and students must present a valid TexShare library card, a valid faculty/student ID card from the home institution, and picture ID (e.g. drivers license) with proof of address to staff in the Circulation Department of one of the three libraries. Each patron will complete a User Application. The TexShare Card and a picture ID must be presented to check out materials. The TexShare Library Card cannot be used by itself to check out materials.

CARD AVAILABILITY: Cards for students expire at the end of the semester in which they were issued (December 15, May 15, or August 15). Faculty and staff cards are valid for a period not to exceed the expiration date on the TexShare Card, and not to exceed the next August 31. Students may renew borrowing privileges for the next semester by presenting the same identification as listed under eligibility beginning two weeks before the first day of classes at TAMU, College Station. Faculty and staff who have a new TexShare card good for the next academic year may begin to renew their privileges starting August 15. Faculty and staff will also need to present same identification as listed under eligibility. A TexShare card may only be used by the person to whom it is issued. For the borrower's protection, staff will always ask to see a photo ID before checking out materials to the holder of a TexShare card.
