LIMITATIONS: Students and public borrowers
may borrow four books at one time. Faculty and staff may borrow
10 books at one time. Borrowing privileges are revoked if
the patron has overdue books. All books are subject to recall;
the due date on the recall notice replaces the due date originally
issued. Texshare borrowers do not have Interlibrary loan privileges.
ELIGIBILITY: Prospective borrowers must
present a TexShare card and social security number at the
circulation Services Desk of M.D. Anderson Library. Academic
borrowers must also present a university ID card which should
designate the prospective borrowers as faculty member, staff
member or student. Public borrowers must be at least 16 years
of age and present a valid TX driver's license or TX identification
card in addition to their Texshare card and social security
number.
CARD AVAILABILITY: TexShare borrowing privileges
can be arranged during all hours of operation of M.D. Anderson
Library. Student TexShare cards will be honored through the
semester in which they were issued, and during the following
intersession. Faculty, staff and public TexShare cards will
be honored throughout the fiscal year in which the cards were
issued.

Mon - Th, 7 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Fri, 7 a.m. - 8:45 p.m.
Sat, 9 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Sun, 12 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Hours vary during finals, summer sessions
and intersessions. To obtain these and branch library hours

RENEWALS:
One renewal is allowed, unless the book has been requested by
another library user. Renewals may be made in person or through
the online catalog, which can be accessed through the library
web site, http://info.lib.uh.edu.
RETURNS: Returns can be made to the circulation
desk/ M.D. Anderson Library or by mail. Return receipts are
available upon request. Materials may not be returned to the
home library's interlibrary loan department.
Mail Return:We recommend that you insure each item for $73.00.

OVERDUES: Ordinarily, two overdue notices
will be mailed. However, patrons are required to return books
upon the due date whether or not overdue notices have been
received.
RECALLS: All books are subject to recall.
If an item is recalled, the due date on the recall notice
replaces the due date originally issued. Fines of $1.00 per
day are charged for books that are not returned by the newly
assigned due date.
NON-CIRCULATING: Many types of materials,
including journals, are used in-house only, and are not available
for circulation. These are designated in our library catalog
as LIBRARY USE ONLY.
LOANS: Students and public borrowers with
TexShare cards may borrow books for three weeks. Faculty and
staff may keep books until the first day of the last month
of the current semester. Some items are designated with special
loan periods, which would apply to all borrowers.
FINES: Fines are charged for materials that
are checked out from Reserve Services and for items that are
recalled. Fines for reserve materials are $2.00 per day and
for recalled items are $1.00 per day.
LOST ITEMS: The Library currently charges
$73.00 for a lost book.
BILLING: Please notify the library of lost
books as soon as possible in order to avoid billing and late
fees charged by the university accounting office.
