LIMITATIONS: TexShare borrowers may check out a maximum of
four print items. Audio / visual and reference material may
not be checked out. Interlibrary loans may not be requested.
Borrowing privileges will be blocked until outstanding fines
(over $2.00) are paid and any overdue items returned.
ELIGIBILITY: TexShare borrowers must have a valid TexShare
card, photo ID and documentation showing their permanent physical
residence, if it is not documented on their photo ID. A one-year
Universal City Public Library card will then be issued. Children
under the age of thirteen must have a parent or guardian present
to sign their application. A current Universal City Library
card holder applying for a TexShare card must be sixteen years
of age, a registered card holder for at least two months and
have checked out and returned materials a minimum of two times
with no fines or overdues on their account.
CARD AVAILABILITY: Library cards are issued at opening of
the library and up to fifteen minutes before closing. TexShare
cards will be active for one year and renewed if the patron
is in good standing with the Universal City Public Library
and has their photo ID and proof of residency with them.
HOURS: Monday 12-8PM Tuesday 10AM-6PM Wednesday 12-8PM Thursday
12-6PM Friday 12-4PM Saturday 10AM-4PM The library is closed:
New Year's Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Labor
Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and the
day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Items are renewed in person and only
if the patron has their library card and item to be renewed
with them. Items may be renewed for a three-week period, providing
they are not on reserve or on hold.
RETURNS: Items may be returned at the circulation desk, the
curbside book drop or by mail. Items that are returned by
mail must be received postage paid, on or before the due date
of all materials mailed. MAIL RETURN:

EXPRESS MAIL: Same as above.
OVERDUES: Borrowers will be reiminded by mail when an item
is two weeks overdue and again when the item is six weeks
overdue. Outstanding obligations will result in suspension
of library privileges.
RECALLS: No Recalls.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Reference materials, periodicals and
audio/visual materials do not circulate.
LOAN POLICIES: TexShare borrowers may check
out items for a period of three weeks and may renew said items
in person once for another three weeks provided items are
not on reserve or on hold.
FINES: Adult materials accrue fines at a rate of $0.10 per
day with a maximum of $5.00. Juvenile materials accrue fines
at a rate of $0.05 a day with a maximum of $2.00. A $2.00
fee is charged for repairable damaged items. Non-repairable
damaged items are charged the replacement cost plus a $2.00
processing fee.
LOST ITEMS:
An item is considered lost after six months.
Borrowers will be charged the cost of the item, fines accrued
on the item and a $2.00 processing fee.
BILLING: Payment of fines, damaged or lost materials may
be made in person or by mail. Failure to comply wll result
in loss of library privileges.
