LIMITATIONS:  TexShare borrowers are limited to 5 items checked out at one time. Borrowing privileges are blocked if items are overdue, or patron has outstanding fines or unpaid bills.

ELIGIBILITY: Borrowers may apply for borrowing privileges by filling out an application at the Circulation Desk of any Waco-McLennan County Library System library. A picture ID and proof of current address are required. In order to be issued a TexShare card, borrowers must be registered borrowers in good standing (no outstanding fines or fees)of the Waco-McLennan County Library for a minimum period of six months.

Central Library: Mon-Thur: 10am-9pm Fri-Sat: 10am-6pm Sunday: 1pm-5pm East Waco Library: Monday: 10am-9pm Tue-Sat: 10am-6pm Sunday: Closed R.B. Hoover Library: Mon-Wed: 10am-6pm Thursday: 10am-9pm Fri-Sat: 10am-6pm Sunday: Closed South Waco Library: Monday: 10am-6pm Tuesday: 10am-9pm Wed-Sat: 10am-6pm Sunday: Closed The Library closes for the following Holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

CARD AVAILABILITY: Borrowing privileges are granted, and cards issued to TexShare borrowers during regular hours of operation. However, all Circulation Desks close 15 minutes prior to Library closing. Borrowing privileges for TexShare borrowers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Material may be renewed in person or by phone on or before the date due. Items may be renewed only once. An item On Hold for another person may not be renewed. Renewal period is the same as initial check-out period.

RETURNS: Materials may be returned to any System library. They may be returned inside libraries at the Circulation Desks, or through 24-hour book drops located at each library. Books may be returned by mail, but will accrue a fine if not received by the due date.

OVERDUES:  Electronic Notification System - If the borrower has a local phone number, an automated call is generated when an item is one day overdue. When items are one week overdue, a printed notice will be mailed to the borrower. When items are two weeks overdue, a second printed notice will be mailed to the borrower. When items are three weeks overdue, a certified letter is mailed to the borrower citing possible collection or court action for materials not returned.

RECALLS:  No recall, however items on hold for other borrowers cannot be renewed.

NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS:  Reference books, Periodicals, and Genealogical materials are not available for check-out.

LOANS: Loan periods: Videos 3 days Book, Audio-Cassettes and other items 3 weeks Borrowers under 16 years of age must have parent or legal guardian accept responsibility for materials checked out.

FINES:Fines for overdue materials are: Videos: $1.00 per day All other items: $ .15 per day Fines accrue to a maximum fine of $25 per item. Charges for damaged materials: Current replacement cost + $5.00 processing fee + any accrued fine.

LOST ITEMS: An item is considered "Lost" when: 1) The borrower informs the Library it is lost. 2) An item reaches the maximum fine of $25. 3) A "ClaimsReturned" item is not recovered after 6 months. The cost of an item is the current replacement cost + $5 processing fee + any fine accrued to the date that the item is determined "lost."

BILLING: Fines and other bills are due when they are incurred. Payment arrangements may be made to pay bills over a 6-month period. Outstanding balances over 60 days are forwarded to a collection agency, if no payments have been made. Payments in person may be made at any system library. Payment by check or money order through the mail is accepted at the Central Library. Borrower's name and address should be clearly legible on the check or money order. The Waco-McLennan County Library System does not accept payment by credit card.
