The goal of theTexShare interlibrary loan program
is to promote resource sharing and improve ILL services
among member libraries.The program offers an ILL protocol
and load leveling guide.
TexShare members who use OCLC for their interlibrary loan
and who are members of the Texas Group may sign the Protocol.
The purpose of the agreement is to foster resource sharing
in Texas and to help standardize policies and procedures.
The agreement recommends, but does not require, practices
such as not charging for ILL service, using Ariel equipment
for document delivery, and subscribing to TExpress.
The ILL program also sponsors a workshop every 18 months.
The workshop brings together ILL practitioners from around
Texas to discuss services and hear speakers on a wide range
on ILL topics.
